Who can live at Newgrounds?

Newgrounds Living is a well-priced residential apartment block accommodating a wide variety of individuals. We regret no tenants under the age of 16.

What documentation do I need to have to apply?

Leaseholder ID Document / Passport / Company Documents
• Resident’s ID Document / Passport
• Leaseholder’s proof of current address
• Leaseholder’s pay slip and/or 3 month’s bank statements/company bank statements

How do I view a room or book a viewing?

You can view the different units we offer and their floor plans under the Rooms tab here on our website. You can also view room & facility images under the Gallery tab. Come visit us! Should you wish to book a viewing please contact our team to arrange a time.

How do I know my application has been received?

Once your application is complete and the required support documents have been submitted, you will receive an application approval email from the Newgrounds team. Should there be any information missing after you have completed the online application, you will receive an email or call to ask you to edit your application.

How do I know when a room has been allocated to me?

You will receive an email thanking you for your application, advising you of your unit number and the next steps in the process. You will also receive an invoice for payment of your deposit, this invoice will show your unit number as well as a four-digit number you will be requested to use a your reference for payment.

What fees are payable with my application?

In order for us to process your application and allocate you a unit we require an application fee of R1150 to be paid. Once your application is processed you will receive an invoice for the amount due.

What fees are payable before I occupy my room?

The following items will reflect on your first invoice (payment is due after your application has been processed):
• Application fee of R1150 (Non-Refundable)
• 2-month deposit (50% of which is security and 50% as a damage deposit)
• 1st Months Rental
• Optional extras

When can I check-in?

Yay! It’s move in day! The date of your occupation is stipulated in your lease agreement. On that day you may check in after 12pm. Early check in can be arranged should the unit be ready for occupation.

Where do I check-in?

Check-in at the security front desk which is accessible from the main entrance of the building. Here you will be guided through the check-in process.

How do I get access to Newgrounds and my room?

We need your prints! At the security front desk, you will register for fingerprint access to the building. You will then be shown to your room.

What should I bring?

Your own linen, i.e. pillows, mattress protectors, sheets, blankets or duvets, pillowcases, curtains, and towels. Sheets must be used on the beds at all times.
Your own crockery and cookware, which must be made of cast iron or stainless steel for use on the Induction hot plates*
Desk chair
Padlock for your room door

*Note on Induction Hot Plates :
Induction hot plates are safer to use than conventional hobs but only work with cookware made of cast iron or stainless steel. When using the hot plate: the control system will shut down the element if a pot is not present, not large enough or when its contents have boiled dry. Newgrounds Management advises residents that the glass ceramic top can be damaged by a hard impact or sliding cookware across the glass surface. Aluminium foil can melt onto the top also causing permanent damage.
